Rogers’s Story

Tongue Cancer

“My name is Roger Owens and I am Cancer Free!!! In December 2010 I was diagnosed with cancer of the throat. I was referred to Highlands Cancer Center by my family doctor, Dr. Brandi Collins. Naturally, I was scared to death. This took me by complete surprise. I have always tried to take care of myself. I thought I was as healthy as anybody. But for some unknown reason, God decided to put me through a test! And guess what! With the continuous care of the people at HCC and God’s help I survived! I put my faith and my illness in God’s hands, and he provided the doctors, nurses and staff at HCC with the knowledge, abilities and care to pull me through the roughest ordeal I have ever been through. Words cannot describe the feelings, respect and undying gratitude I have for my friends at HCC. I love these people dearly! They are the best! But the best friend I have is my wife. She stood by me, cared for me and I thank God for her. With the help of HCC and God, she brought me through the roughest ordeal of my life. Thank you Pam!!!”
